Regional Council Experiences the Benefits of Chemical Substitution

With help from Envirofluid, a Regional Council significantly reduced the harmful effects related to their cleaning and maintenance activities, as well as their chemical inventory. For several years now, the council has been using Triple7 products and have reported absolute satisfaction with the performance of our chemistries.

Improving Lives

The Triple7 range of products is different from other harmful chemicals masquerading as green products. Triple7 products are high-performance super concentrated formulations that are 100% bio-based. They do not contain chemicals determined by the EPA or OH&S to be carcinogenic or suspected carcinogens. They are free of hazardous air pollutants, VOCs and toxic chemicals, making the products safe to use even in confined spaces.

These products are readily-biodegradable and will not upset the balance of nature’s ecosystems. There is no danger of the runoff polluting our waterways.

Improving Business

Businesses benefit from using safer alternatives such as Triple7. These products are highly-concentrated – a little goes a long way. They are also versatile, so you won’t need to stock up on a lot of different products for different applications.

The Triple7 range of products assist in the effluent breakdown, improve oil/water separation, and reduce overall sludge volume. The result is enhanced wastewater system performance and reduced maintenance costs, as well as enabling water recycling. Triple7 products have no Hazchem rating, requiring no special storage areas and lowered transport, handling, and disposal costs.

Improving Innovation

Triple7 products are non-corrosive so they are safe for use on metals, rubbers, seals, and virtually all other surfaces that are compatible with water.

These products are versatile, so one product can be used for a variety of purposes.

The Situation

Several years ago, the Regional Council became concerned about the harm they were causing to the local environment with their use of traditional cleaning chemicals and sought out safer alternatives. Unfortunately, the cleaning agents they previously used contained hazardous chemicals and contaminated the surrounding waterways due to the wash off, which drove the wildlife away.

At the time, the council’s cleaning and maintenance activities necessitated nearly 40 different chemical products.

The Solution

Envirofluid aided the council in identifying the different applications for their chemical products and recommended appropriate substitutes. After assessing their needs, the total number of required cleaning agents was brought down to 3, namely Triple7 Heavy Duty, Triple7 Odour Control, and Triple7 Aircraft & Metal.

The Outcome

The Regional Council has been using Triple7 products for several years now and have reported absolute satisfaction with their performance. After switching to Triple7 products, they noticed that frogs have returned to their waterways, signalling that they made a good environmental choice. This makes them happy to be using 100% bio-based products.

The council has also learnt to use them effectively, purchasing them in bulk and diluting them which results in significant cost savings.
